Aging is a natural inevitable process! The passage of time is commonly marked by fine lines and wrinkles, which can be an unwanted change for many individuals. Using approved cosmetic procedures such as Botox treatments, your dermatologist can minimize or even reverse the signs of aging.
Botox is a safe and easy method for reducing wrinkles and expression lines, often with immediate results. Your complexion can look younger in as little as one Botox treatment.
Botox is actually something called ”botulinum toxin type A.” It is just one of many injectable products available for cosmetic and medical use. During a Botox treatment, your board certified dermatologist will inject very small amounts of Botox into the area being treated. This popular injectable product works by blocking nerves, thereby relaxing the muscle activity in a specific area.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only approved treatment for this purpose: to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines (between the brows) as well as crow’s feet lines.*
Botox® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet— frowning and squinting! These completely natural facial expressions cause repeated muscle contractions, which, over time lead to the development of wrinkles. Your specialist will inject these muscles with Botox®Cosmetic, temporarily reducing muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows, sometimes immediately!
BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most extensively studied medical aesthetic treatments and is approved for cosmetic use in 78 countries.* BOTOX® Cosmetic has a record of experience that aesthetic specialists know and trust. And, the safety and efficacy of BOTOX® Cosmetic have been evaluated in both Allergan sponsored clinical trials as well as in 417 peer-reviewed articles in scientific and medical journals.
As with all medical treatments, please consult your doctor for considering any procedure.
Do not use BOTOX® Cosmetic if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in BOTOX® Cosmetic such as botulinum toxin type A and human serum albumin or if you have had an allergic reaction to another botulinum toxin product such as Myobloc® (rimabotulinumtoxinB), Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA), or Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA). Botox is not recommended if you have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
Other side effects, while less common, have been reported such as: blurred vision, double vision and allergic reactions (itching, rash, red itchy welts, wheezing, asthma symptoms, dizziness or feeling faint).
*These are not all of the possible side effects. Call your doctor for medical advice if you experience any side effects after treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic.
